PACA is fortunate to have had a dedicated group of volunteer board members over the years. This group works without pay to educate, preserve, and salvage Champaign County’s past. PACA Board members are elected to staggered three-year terms at the PACA Annual Membership meeting by the general membership. A maximum of two terms are allowed before a board member must rotate off the board. Members appointed to unexpired terms may serve two full terms on their own election. Numbers in ( ) refer to the current board members’ expiration date. Nominations to serve on the board are always welcome.
Board meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 PM and are open to PACA members. Details of board meetings are included on the website calendar.

The true heart of the organization, however, is PACA’s Executive Director, Karen Lang Kummer. Karen began volunteering with PACA in 1981, became Executive Director in 1982, and has been the longest continually active PACA member. Boards and presidents have come and gone, but Karen has provided invaluable continuity to the organization. Karen is an architectural historian who has been responsible for numerous successful National Register of Historic Places nominations and historic preservation surveys. Karen is the person behind many of PACA’s successes.
